Otherwise entitled: Route of the Conquistadors.

Day one of the epic week long Spain/ Portugal trip was a LOT of bus riding. We climbed aboard a bus that looked disturbingly like a giant caterpillar, and headed out on the route of the conquistadors, following that to Lisbon, Portugal, where we spent the night. Along the way we stopped in Trujillo, a tiny town where Francisco Pizarro hails from. Below, the statue of Pizarro from the main square.

And that was it for day one… unfortunately, a lot of this trip was spent on the bus, so there won’t be as detailed of blog entries. But we did see a lot of interesting things, so keep your eye out!
