While living in Florence isn’t my favorite, I have enjoyed studying art history here. My art history professor is Helen (seriously, going back to this “Professor” business when I get back to the States is going to be difficult), and I’ve described her to some of you as “very passionate.” Below is a video I took of her lecturing outside the Santa Maria Novella. It’s about 9 1/2 minutes, since youtube has a time limit of 10 minutes, and I had to import it into iMovie, cut it, compress it… basically, lots of complicated technology business that I totally don’t understand. For the record, the original video was 20 minutes, outside the SMN, before we went inside for the last hour and forty minutes of class. The idea was to take the video until she said, “Ok, let’s head inside,” but you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men. That said, please enjoy this ten minute segment, and get a taste of my four hour weekly/ monthly field trip class.
